The Milke Way

The Art and Ramblings of Amanda Milke

Tormented Waves November 26, 2007

Ever feel like you’re being tossed against the rocks of life? Cuz I have.

So here’s today’s abstract painting.

“Tormented Waves”

Tormented Waves

I actually finished it on Sunday and just haven’t gotten around to photographing it and putting it up until now.

I’m really pleased with how it turned out and I had fun dabbling with my new palette knife.

Sadly however, you can’t fully appreciate it without seeing it in person.

Please feel free to comment/critique.

Cheers,

Stumbled upon this and thought it was fitting for the piece:

Psalms 42:7 Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.

yes, I can see the textures from the photocopy but can only imagine how it is in person… :) it really gives the effects of water flowing over a very rocky bottom.

Yeah, the palette knife resulted in some really cool effects in terms of color mixing and solid edges.

I really like this piece. It’s an abstract, but you can definitely tell what it is. It’s like 19th century abstract impressionism (yay, Monet!).

  3. I’ve always been a fan of chaos and the colour blue, so this gets top marks from me.
